Thank you for visiting my website.
It’s very exciting for me to have many of my songs all together in one place!
A few of these songs are simple demos recorded in my little home studio, so the quality is not the best. Others were recorded by major artists in some of the finest studios in the country.
All these songs span many different musical genres, and they are a collection of a little bit of this and a little bit of that!
Anyway, thanks again for visiting and if you are interested in licensing any of the songs, please email me at the email address in the “contact” section of this website.
All the Best,
Michael
ABOUT MICHAEL
When Michael was in his early twenties, his brother Richard suggested that he try writing songs. Michael played the guitar but never thought of writing songs. But after his brother suggested it, he decided to give songwriting a try.
He wrote his first four songs in one night! And as Michael tells it – his first songs were all terrible! However, after his first go at songwriting, he was hooked. He became passionate about improving his songwriting craft, so he began collaborating with his brother Richard. Richard wrote mostly melodies and Michael wrote mostly lyrics.
After a few months, the Berardi Brothers began writing some pretty good songs. They recorded demos of their songs in their little home studio and started sending them up to CBS music publishing in New York. One of the vice presidents of CBS publishing really liked their songs and after a while CBS offered the Berardi’s a full-time staff songwriting position. Imagine getting paid by CBS music for something that you absolutely loved to do – writing songs! It was like a dream come true!
During their time at CBS music publishing, they wrote Alabama’s first hit song and during their songwriting careers they have had about 200 songs published. And many were recorded by major artists, including Alabama, Greg Allman, Billy Preston, Ronnie Spector, Gene Pitney, Trini Lopez, Al Martino, Pia Zadora, Jane Oliver, among others.
Their songs have been produced by many well-known producers such as Charlie Colello (Barbara Streisand), Joel Dorn (Roberta Flack), Marvin Hamlisch (A Chorus Line), Harold Wheeler (Dancing with the stars), and others.
Their catalog of songs spans a wide range of musical genres – Country, Rock, Pop, Jazz, Dance, Disco, Christian, Funny, Inspirational, and Patriotic.
Part of their music catalog contains songs about confronting challenges in life and having the faith to overcome them. Nashville’s beloved artist, Ronnie Kimball, recorded 11 Berardi Brothers songs on his “Reach Higher” album. These songs “Lift the Spirit and Inspire the Soul”.
Michael and Richard have received thousands of letters from people from all over the world who have said that the music on the Reach Higher album has made a difference in their lives. This is the most rewarding aspect of writing songs – knowing that their music has affected the listener in a positive way.
